A tidal inlet at the crest of an afternoon high tide is still, shaded and reflecting the surrounding tall trees. This creates a stillness; a calming and nearly unbroken green reflection, save the White Ibis that have just arrived to take advantage of the waters for a cooling (and much needed) bath. Within minutes the Ibis will be on their way again, off to find more delicacies where the tide hasn't reached. Life in the Lowcounty.
