About the Artist

Holly Bjorkstrom spent her childhood growing up on a farm where she learned her appreciation of nature's beauty and diversity from her father. Fast forward through a long business career and raising two girls, this love of the outdoors has emerged into a passion for landscape painting, both in the outdoors ('en plein air') and in the studio. Her art training has been intense self-study supplemented with both online and in-person, nationally recognized artist led workshops. Holly's paintings continue as representational tending toward an impressionistic style, striving to capture the emotion or spirit of the natural scenery and convey that sense to the viewer. Her constant dedication to learning is an important element of her artistic development.

Her paintings have been juried into art exhibitions, from local to national, receiving awards including Best of Show and featured in local newspaper articles. After living in North Carolina throughout her business career, she and her husband now call the beautiful Lowcountry of South Carolina home.
